Are you living your fairytale?
When I was a little girl I dreamed of my Prince who would come and sweep me off my feet. I had expectations that were impossible for my husband to live up to. Those fairytales were filled with promises of perfection that no one could give me but Jesus. In Once Upon A Fairytale I dive into what the Bible says about godly marriage, what the Lord says about submission and how our marriage reflects our covenant with Christ…a picture of salvation.
I thought that having a healthy marriage was impossible. My sister in law had encouraged me during those rough years that one day we would have a good marriage. I thought to myself, “it’s impossible!” Yet God did a miracle in our lives. He got to the dirty, ugly, selfish places and began to chip away at what we were holding onto so tightly.
As the Lord began to mentor me in what a godly marriage was supposed to look like, as well as doing the same thing with my wonderful husband, we began to see powerful changes in our lives. It was really just going back to what the Word of God says and living it out. God is so faithful! He doesn’t want any of us to be living in a way that will bring such misery and destruction. He wants to bring us freedom and He is worthy of receiving glory from our lives. God is worthy to have our obedience no matter the cost.
